THE Chronicle's exhibition gardens program yesterday donated $30,500 to five selected charities.
The program is run in conjunction with the Chronicle Garden Competition and the Carnival of Flowers.
Visitors pay a fee to view the five selected gardens.
Exhibition Gardens committee president Michael Frainey praised the gardeners and thanked the Chronicle for its involvement.
Since the program's inception the program has raised more than $450,000 for charity.
Exhibition gardens this year were supplied by Philip and Marjorie Martin, Bill and Joyce McKee, Wal and Carol Grimmett, Edwin and Lesley Dean and Wal and Kathy Stewart.
The charities who benefited were Anglicare, Guide Dogs Queensland, CareFlight, Toowoomba Community Care Transport and Life Education.
Spokesman for the charities were effusive in their praise for the gardeners who kept their homes open for the 10 days of the carnival.
