Department needs to stop blaming others - Courier Mail

AFTER the very disturbing issues that have been highlighted in recent days, it is high time Queensland's Child Safety Department was put under very close scrutiny.

They appear to be "shelving" their responsibilities and relaying the blame to others for what is their inaction to inform and act according with the knowledge they hold in respect to certain individuals.

The Minister should act now to get this department to do its job as chartered and stop blaming others for its complete incompetence.

ONE has to wonder at the mindless abrogation of their duty by the personnel of the Child Safety Department in the current situation being made public.

To not have told the foster parent of the boy's previous misdeeds except to describe them as "something" and an "exaggerated matter" (C-M, Dec 1) is unbelievable in the extreme.

Then to blame the children involved leaves me speechless.

WITH regard to the current issues facing the Child Safety Department - who has a lock on their bedroom doors, especially for children?

There are safety issues of fire and illness etc. Moreover, where is the safety for the wonderful families who take in foster children?

THE toxic political climate is a stain on our national reputation and is making our federal and state governments increasingly irrelevant to the lives and aspirations of ordinary Australians.

The waste, hypocrisy and futility of it all is appalling.

We spend millions ensuring our voice is heard in the United Nations and then the Prime Minister chickens out at the first real test.

The hung Federal Parliament wastes its time trying to show that someone on the other side is a liar and a cheat, something most of us made our minds up about years ago.

Expensive climate change "initiatives" fail miserably or sink without trace.

The Treasurer waffles on about how well we are doing economically as most of us see our savings depleted, our superannuation decimated and our standard of living going down the gurgler. It seems he doesn't have a clue.

Our State Government, with a record majority, cannot manage its own affairs let alone the state's.

Australians are getting by in spite of a political system that is dysfunctional.

We need leadership with vision and integrity and we are not getting it.

HAVING returned to Australia only 10 months ago after living in the US for many years, it has taken some time to put together what happened in the political culture in Australia.

I feel ashamed of Australia being projected by Julia Gillard (pictured). She is a traitor to her party colleague Kevin Rudd, and she lied to the people about the carbon tax just to get elected.

She runs around so proud of herself, flaunting accomplishments to other foreign leaders who always have a strange look on their faces when they are with her. Particularly Obama.

They hold her at arm's length, but she is enjoying the ride too much to know or care.

TIME'S up now, the Government has to stand firm and send all asylum seekers back to their countries.

No more Nauru, Papua New Guinea or Christmas Island, just send them back.

Australia has had enough of this farce.

Our homeless and wanting should be first for financial consideration. All the money wasted on these illegals is an insult to the taxpayers.
