A man has been charged after allegedly going overseas to train for hostile activity in another country.


Australian Federal Police say a 45-year-old Victorian man has been charged with foreign incursion offences. It is understood he was training to be a mercenary


He was arrested after a joint AFP and Victoria Police investigation, with assistance provided by Queensland Police, and he will face a Brisbane court today.


Six search warrants were executed on Tuesday in the Victorian suburbs of Caulfield South, Caulfield, East Bentleigh and Tynong North.


Two search warrants were also executed in Toowoomba, Queensland.


Federal Police could not say which other country was involved, but a spokeswoman says more details will be revealed in court.
