Man hurts spine on homemade water slide - Herald Sun

A 20-YEAR-old man has been flown to hospital after Christmas Eve festivities went wrong near Toowoomba.

The man and a group of friends had made a 15-metre makeshift water slide into a creek at the Murphys Creek and were using it about 10.40pm Monday.

But the game went horribly wrong when the man slid down the slide, skimmed across the creek and hit the bank on the other side.

He suffered severe injuries to his spine.

The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter was called and the man was treated at the scene.

He was then flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
