Free wi-fi access has the potential to become a flagship communication initiative for Toowoomba Regional Council under a proposal made in the Queens Park Draft Master Plan.


Other suggestions made in the plan, which was released earlier this week, include proposed path upgrades, tree replacements and an increase in the number of barbecue facilities.


However, the reintroduction of a zoo was not considered appropriate under the new design plans.


Toowoomba Regional Council Environmental Health, Parks and Recreation portfolio leader Sue Englart said the 12-month community consultation phase had allowed the community the opportunity to have their say regarding what they liked, disliked and what could be improved within Queens Park.


"The park is the diamond in our city," Cr Englart said. "Most of the issues raised by those who took the time to submit their concerns have been addressed.
