Unbeaten Easy Game Ready For Doomben Test - The Virtual Form Guide

Toowoomba mare Easy Game will put an unbeaten record on the line with her trainer almost oblivious to the opposition she will face at Doomben on Saturday.

Easy Game is chasing her sixth win in the Channel 7 Queensland Handicap (1010m) and Donald Baker is happy to let her work against a well-performed stablemate be the best yardstick to her chances.

"I galloped her with Mr Favulous the other day and they galloped well," Baker said.

"You'd like to have Mr Favulous in a no-metro win race. I get a guide that way.

"You can go through a race and pick out ten horses to beat and still not get it right.

"I reckon the only certainty is that there are no certainties. If you worry about other people's horses then I reckon you don't concentrate on your own."

Baker also trains Bradbury Chocolate, a mare who posted seven wins on the trot to start her career, and he reckons Easy Game deserves to be compared.

"I don't think there is much between them to be honest," he said.

"I've said it all the way through but people have laughed at me."

Easy Game's transition to city racing gives leading Toowoomba jockey Ron Goltz the chance to land a Brisbane winner.

Goltz has ridden Easy Game at her past three wins and Baker says the jockey's experience on the mare could make the difference.

"She can be a bit of handful if you don't know her," he said. "Sometimes she can be a little bit hot headed if she gets a bee in her bonnet."

Doomben was rated in the heavy range on Friday morning and little improvement is expected.

Easy Game is yet to encounter a wet track but Baker has placed his faith in her genes to get through the going.

"You never know until you try them but you'd think she would because she's by Easy Rocking and most of them all go through it."
