A MAN police allege is linked to a container load of suspected stolen property will remain in custody after appearing in Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

Carl Lucas Dawson, 39, has been charged with five property offences over the range of electrical and musical goods found by Toowoomba Tactical Crime Squad officers on Monday.

His case was yesterday adjourned until next month.

Tactical crime squad officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Jason Hopgood said police still wanted members of the public to come forward to claim the seized property.

He said officers found the property in a container at an Alderley St storage facility.

Included in the haul were guitars, amplifiers, home theatre equipment, a television, laptop computers, remote control helicopters, desktop computers and some tools.

"We have identified some of the property as belonging to people," Snr Sgt Hopgood said.

He said some of it was linked to two break and enters committed in Toowoomba in the past 10 months.

"We would like to identify the owners and the circumstances in which they lost the property."

Information from the public has proved very important in the location of the goods.

"If we didn't get this information we wouldn't have been able to locate this property."
