TOOWOOMBA pizza fans have plenty to cheer about with the Kearneys Spring Pizza Hut restaurant back in business.

Re-opening the popular eatery are new franchisees Prabu and Kavintha Kannan who take control of the store after its closure in February.

It will be the first time working in hospitality for Mr and Mrs Kannan, after 15 years working in IT.

"My wife and I had worked most of our lives in IT and were desperate for a change," Mr Kannan said.

"I really liked the potential the Toowoomba store had and decided it would be the perfect place to start my career running a restaurant.

"It is going to be a really big challenge for us. However we are determined to make it work."

The restaurant has employed 40 staff - 25 permanent and 15 casual.

Since re-opening for business three weeks ago, Mr Kannan said business has been incredible.
