LIBBBY Coghlan's poise has been a distinguishing attribute of her training and performances as a dancer and a dance instructor.
This characteristic was one of her many personality traits that impressed judges of this year's Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers ambassador program.
The 18-year-old university student last night stepped forward as the 2014 carnival ambassador at the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers launch at the Cube Hotel.
A former St Ursula's College student, Libby said she was overwhelmed to win the prestigious title.
"I've enjoyed attending past Carnivals and have been involved in the parade with the Toowoomba School of Dance," she said.

"I started dancing when I was three and have performed ever since. More recently I have enjoyed teaching young dancers and find it rewarding and fun to teach children," she said.
"Being involved with the Toowoomba School of Dance's annual production, A Christmas Wish, has opened my eyes to the benefits of using my talents to help others."
"I've been associated with the project for 13 years and have taken over co-ordinating fundraising for the event."
Miss Coghlan said she would use the $5000 bursary to advance her dance teaching credentials.
