A NORTH Queensland father has found with what he believes are the charred remains of his 17-year-old-son.
The Townsville Bulletin reports Rob Coleman searched 130,000 hectares of bushland where his son Kyle disappeared while on a pig hunting trip with his mate James.
James reported Kyle missing after the trip then took his own life soon after.
Mr Coleman told the Bulletin he found remains of Kyle's swag, doona, watch parts and buckles from his backpack on burnt ground.
He also found a .303 cartridge and spent shotgun cartridges.
Mr Coleman believes his son was shot at point-blank range.
Police are investigating.
A Facebook page dedicated to finding Kyle now has more than 17,000 followers.
