Unborn baby killed in Queensland traffic crash - Toowoomba Chronicle


A WOMAN'S unborn baby has been killed in a crash at Marsden with the pregnant mother also seriously injured.


Police are appealing for wtinesses to the accident to come forward.


Initial investigations indicate that around 7.45pm, a Holden Commodore and Nissan Maxima have collided on Browns Plains Road at the Second Avenue intersection.


One of the passengers of the Maxima, a 30-year-old pregnant woman, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital suffering serious injuries.


Her unborn baby died as a result of the crash.


The driver and the other passengers of the Maxima - a 39-year-old man, 10-year-old boy, and an 18-month-old girl - were taken to the Logan Hospital with minor injuries.


The driver of the Commodore, a 32-year-old man, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandria Hospital for treatment.


The Springwood Forensic Crash Unit is investigating, and appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or seen either vehicle prior to the crash to contact them on 3809 5277.


Police would particularly like to speak with the driver of a white sedan that was traveling eastbound on Browns Plains Road around the time of the crash.
