Welcome to Toowoomba's friendliest street - Toowoomba Chronicle

IS Schaefer Court Toowoomba's friendliest street?

The residents of the Westbrook cul-de-sac are members of a neighbourhood where the sense of community is a force to be reckoned with.

Taking out neighbours' garbage, caring for run away pets and even a yearly street party to celebrate Christmas are just some of the many ways the residents of Schaefer Ct work together to create a friendly and supportive neighbourhood.

Lara Paroz and her husband have lived in Schaefer Ct for eight years and said it was one of the best places they had lived.

"It is just the friendliest neighbourhood," Mrs Paroz said.

"Everybody looks out for one another and is always happy to put out a helping hand.

"It is such a relaxed atmosphere in the street which makes it a great place to live."

Mrs Paroz said that although there had been a number of families move in and out of the street during the past eight years, Schaefer Ct had not changed.

"Any new residents to the street have always been welcomed with open arms," she said.

"My family has also stayed friends with neighbours who have moved away.

"We have met some amazing people who have lived here at one point or another."

Despite only living in the street for only 18 months, Shannon Zimmerle and her family agree that Schaefer court is an amazing place to call home.

"From the moment we moved in everybody in the street has been so cooperative," Mrs Zimmerle said.

"During summer, all the kids in the street are out on their bikes and playing which is something you don't see much of any more."

"It is just the simple things like saying hello which make the area so special."
