TITLE TRIUMPH: Toowoomba boxer Will Young. Glen McCullough
AUSTRALIAN featherweight champion Will Young has looked overseas for his next opponent.
Young (3-3-0, 1KO) will take on Brazil's Reginaldo Carvalho in his next fight on October 31 at Rumours International.
The Toowoomba boxer is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Emanuel Micallef in July, a victory which saw him take out the Australian featherweight title.
Young is keen to build on the momentum gained with that victory.
"I'm going in to this fight with a good base behind me after my last fight in Toowoomba," he said.
"With that fitness and strength it has given me a lot of confidence in myself. I have respect for Reginaldo but I want this to be a shut out."
From Sao Paulo, the 43-year-old boasts a professional record of 22-16-1 with 14 of his wins coming by way of knock-out.
The bout will take place on the Smithy Brings the Big Fights 8 card.
