IT took 18 months of painstaking research and fact checking but for historian Ed Habben, it was all worth it.

Mr Habben will tomorrow present to the Toowoomba RSL branch a bound volume of a fully researched roll of honour of the Toowoomba service personnel who died in the Second World War.

The retired psychologist has researched similar honour rolls for Ipswich and Toowoomba's Milne Bay Military Museum which concentrated specifically on the Toowoomba-raised 25th Battalion.

But to present his latest work to Toowoomba on Remembrance Day was something special.

"It feels good to have it completed, it turned out to be an 18-month project," Mr Habben said.

"In the end I've achieved what I set out to do.

"I hope some of the relatives and descendants (of those on the honour roll) can come along to the presentation on Tuesday."

The newly completed roll of honour will be handed over at the RSL Memorial Hall, Ruthven St, at 12.30pm tomorrow and all those interested in viewing this special piece of Toowoomba history are welcome to attend and enjoy a chat with Mr Habben.
