BRISBANE Broncos players Jack Reed, Jarrod Wallace, and Jharal Yow Yeh know the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.
The NRL stars visited schools in Toowoomba and Dalby yesterday to speak with kids as part of Arrow Energy's community programs.
After talking about healthy lifestyle choices, the students at Toowoomba West Special School made the most of the summer sun as they played ball games with the Broncos trio on the school oval.
Yow Yeh said it was a great way to get the message across and encourage kids to be active.
"It's very important and health is a big part of your life," he said.
"I think (the program) is something a bit different for them, especially a school like this.
"They can get a bit bored sometimes and all we try to do is come out here and look after them and have a bit of fun. That's what we're all about."
Yow Yeh was forced to hang up his playing boots this year after a serious ankle injury but said he enjoyed his new role encouraging others to lead healthy lives.
"It's always hard to move on but when you get to help people out, and kids especially, it's something I'm very passionate about so it's easy for me to do," he said.
"I wouldn't call it work at all - it's fun for me ... it's something that I'm really happy about because I'm a very active person as well so I love it."
