THOUSANDS of Toowoomba families are continuing to enjoy Toowoomba's Christmas Wonderland in Queens Park despite the rain.
Project chairman Marshall Cox said although the display was closed on Thursday night because of the heavy showers, numbers were high.
"People can check out our website, which is updated at 6.15pm, to see if the display is open," he said.
"If the weather is fine come on down and if you're doubtful check the website.
"If it closes it's for the safety of the public and for volunteers because the paths get slippery and the grass gets wet, it's uncomfortable for people."
Mr Cox said the best thing about the event was that it was free.
"People are coming to enjoy what we have here.
"We have two acts on stage every night and roving entertainers around the site.
"Once people make a gold coin donation that's pretty much it for the evening.
"It's about providing a Christmas experience for the people."
