JUNIOR Tafa Milo proved he had a promising future in the sport after knocking out former NRL player Aaron Cannings in his first full-Thai bout at Logan on Saturday night.

Milo floored Cannings with an uppercut in the third round to pick up the KO victory.

That telling shot came after he caught Cannings in the first round as well.

Trainer Phil Renata was impressed with his charge in his first full contact fight.

"He trained for it. It paid off," Renata said.

"He trained like a professional and he won like a professional."

Renata hoped 193cm, 125kg 18-year-old Milo would challenge for a Queensland title next year.

His win on Saturday night certainly put his name out there in a positive light.

"He's had a lot of offers already," Renata said Sunday. "He had a few offers from promoters last night."
