Unusually high winds are believed to have caused electricity conductors to clash along Carrington Rd resulting in a lengthy power interruption for customers in west Toowoomba.
Ergon Energy crews worked through last night to re-configure a section of high voltage lines to solve the problem.
An Ergon spokesman said power was affected to 1204 customers in the Charlton, Kingsthorpe, Torrington and Gowrie Mountain areas, with crews able to restore power temporarily late last night until the cause of the interruption was located.
"Crews on the scene located the problem in the process of safety checks along a section of our network," the Ergon spokesman said.
"The safest solution was to re-build a number of cross arms on this section of power poles to stop lines clashing and this took most of the night to complete."
