CHLOE Town heads into next month's South-East Queensland Titles with something most other boxers there won't have - a national title.

Town is back training out at Fighting Fit in Toowoomba after winning the under 15 girls division at the Australian Boxing Championships at Fremantle.

There, she beat fellow Queenslander Payton Aird-Cardiff, who stepped up to the 57kg division after there were no opponents in the 54kg division.

Town enjoyed the nationals experience and winning certainly helped her leave with great memories.

"It was good. It was fun," she said.

The 13-year-old and her trainer Mick Shaw had been working towards nationals since Town took out the Queensland title last year.

They will now prepare for the SEQ Titles next month.

"We'll definitely set Chloe for that one and hopefully she can win the gold in that," Shaw said.

And all of this has come as a result of Town just opting to give something different a crack three years ago.

"I just went to try something new. I liked it," she said of how she got into boxing in the first place.
