A TOOWOOMBA beauty is on track to be the face of the renowned men's magazine Maxim.

Jaime Cunnington will take on 26 other models from across Australia and New Zealand for $15,000 and the crown of Australia's Swimwear Model of the Year when she attends the national finals on the Gold Coast next week.

What started off as an inspiration to stay fit and healthy quickly snowballed for Ms Cunnington as she won the Toowoomba regional final of the competition.

While she admitted she only had limited modelling experience, Ms Cunnington will be doing everything she can to take out the top prize when judges award the title on May 9.

"I couldn't believe it when I won the Toowoomba final," Ms Cunnington said.

"It was only my fourth time doing something like this and I was absolutely ecstatic when they said I would be going to the nation final.

"It will be an intense week of photo shoots and judging, but I am pretty excited about the whole experience."

The final will take place at different venues on the Gold Coast with the final swimwear and eveningwear judging to be held at Broadbeach club Love Nightlife.

"I thought competitions like this meant all the girls are really bitchy ,but everyone I have met so far has been absolutely wonderful," Ms Cunnington said.

"The experience in itself is a dream come true and I can't wait for the competition to get under way next week."
