A hiccup has emerged in the application for a privately owned airport at Charleton Welcamp.

The state law surrounding planning schemes has meant that the development worth hundreds of millions dollars is assessible through the old Jondaryan Shire Council planning scheme.

It is code assessible.. what does that mean? No-one impacted by the airport will have the opportunity to submit objections.

The meeting today isn't the end of the road fro the development, CASA and the defence force must still approve the plan.

Councillor Bill cahil is the head of the Planning Portfolio at the Toowoomba Regional Council and will chair this afternoon's land use meeting about the airport.
