EMOTICON made a triumphant return to Clifford Park on Saturday night.
The Mark Webb-trained five-year-old gelding won the Hanna's Department Store Benchmark 75 Handicap over 1300 metres to notch his sixth career win from 28 starts.
Geoffrey Goold piloted Emoticon ($4.00) to a 1 ½ length victory ahead of Stop Lying ($7.50) and $2.80 favourite Macca's Express, who was a head further back in third.
Emoticon has run unsuccessfully in Brisbane, Warwick and Sunshine Coast over the past six months but a return to Clifford Park brought about his first win since September.
Saturday night proved a successful night for jockey Kenji Yoshida.
Yoshida was on board three winners from the seven-race program in what was the most impressive individual record for the night.
He opened the night with a win on board promising filly Angel Fantasy ($2.75fav) in the Willmot Accounting QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap over 1050 metres.
Yoshida had to wait only two races to salute the judges next when he steered Daads Order ($4.80) to a Class 2 victory.
That victory broke a run of minor placings for the Flo Braybrook-trained seven-year-old gelding.
Yoshida was then in the saddle when $2.20 favourite Taimzuptina took out the Seven Class 4 Handicap (1000m) for trainer Kevin Kemp.
The meeting drew to a close when short-priced favourite Roadworthy ($1.60fav) gave jockey Skye Bogenhuber her only win of the night in the Weetwood Saturday April 13 Maiden Plate over 1625 metres.
