VICTORIAN pro Jason Norris has just missed breaking the magical 60 barrier with a last hole bogey at the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA in Toowoomba.
Norris fired nine birdies to reach nine-under-par for his round at the City Golf Club before a bogey five on the 18th on an opening day of hot scoring.
The course had been modified from a par 70 layout to a par 68 configuration this year with just a single par five and five par threes so his eight-under 60 has to be rated in that context.

It was a marvellous round from the 2010 Victorian Open champion who had a rush of four straight birdies to open the back nine.
Shooting 59 in an Australian tournament is treasured ground.
Brad McIntosh fired a 59 on the par-71 Emerald Lakes layout on the Gold Coast in 2005 during the Queensland PGA championship.
