TOOWOOMBA Tigers put up a good fight but were unable to come away with wins on their home court in the Asia-Pacific Tennis League.

The Tigers women lost six rubbers to nil against competition leaders Shaw Park, while the Tigers men got much closer against Tennis Brisbane Chargers on Sunday at the Toowoomba Regional Tennis Centre at USQ.

The Chargers lead the ATL men's standings but could only manage a four rubbers to two victory over the hosts in a good performance from the Tigers.

Brisbane-based Tiger Jack Jaede built on his unbeaten singles record by downing Easter Gold Cup regular Michael Look.

Jaede also teamed with Mitchell Thams to score a doubles win over emerging Australian star John Millman and Joel Lindner, son of rugby league great Bob Lindner.

"That effort against the Chargers was probably as good as we've managed so far," Tigers men's manager Gavin Wright said.

Sunday was Toowoomba's turn to host a round of the ATL, which featured promising Australian players like Millman, James Duckworth and Isabella Holland.

"The night went great. There was something like between 200-400 people there," Wright said.
