DETECTIVES from Taskforce Maxima have seized weapons and drugs while targeting the networks of the Rebels criminal motor cycle gang (CMG) on the Gold Coast today.
Police executed a search warrant at a Helensvale address around 9am allegedly locating a semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, gun parts, and a pistol crossbow.
Police also seized a small quantity of cannabis, other restricted drugs and drug paraphernalia.
A 62-year-old Helensvale man has been charged with two counts of possession of a restricted weapon and one count each of possession of a concealable firearm, possession of explosives, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a restricted drug and possession of a utensil.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court July 25.
Detective Acting Superintendent Brendan Smith of Taskforce Maxima said: "The unlawful possession of semi-automatic handguns demonstrates the criminal behaviour of the participants of these gangs. One only has to ask 'why do they need them?'"
"The shooting at the Robina Shopping Centre in 2012 provides a clear illustration of the danger posed to the Queensland Community by gang members unlawfully possessing firearms and accordingly we will do everything in our power to remove these weapons from our streets."
