MORE than $10,500 was raised for children's health and to buy much-needed medical equipment which will assist in helping seriously ill children at the second annual Ladies' Diamond Lunch for 4GR's Give Me 5 for Kids appeal.

The appeal raised funds every June via the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation's Melanie Coultas said this year's exclusive women-only event at Gips Restaurant was an astounding success.

She said the event included raffles and auctions.

"Each lady drew a random playing card from the pile as they came in the door," she said.

"The Jokers all got a key to unlock one of five boxes. One box contained the diamond ring, valued at $2500."

The winner of the ring was well-known Toowoomba identity Mary Wagner.

The ring was donated by Central Jewellers.
