TOOWOOMBA'S wonderful seasons and its convenience are just some of the many reasons USQ Human Resources staffers Jo Underwood and Rob Holmes love the Garden City.

The pair started working with USQ in the same week in 2009 and have seen the university and Toowoomba grow.

Although coming from different backgrounds, Ms Underwood and Mr Holmes have developed an appreciation for everything that is great about the region.

"For me, the move to Toowoomba was a bit of a change," Ms Underwood said.

"I had been working with an airline in Brisbane and decided to make the change and move here.

"It was an adjustment to go from living in a major city. However, I have come to really enjoy living in Toowoomba."

For Mr Holmes, Toowoomba is a city he knows like the back of his hand.

"I grew up in Toowoomba and have spent most of my life here," he said.

"So much in the region has changed and now the city's expanses go all the way out to regions such as Highfields and Withcott.

"I remember when USQ was only a horse paddock."

The pair both agreed Toowoomba's size was one of its strong points.

"Everything is so close. You can get from one side of town to another is less than 20 minutes," Ms Underwood said.

"Going from Brisbane peak hour to the more relaxed style of Toowoomba has been wonderful."

Mr Holmes said although it was great to see Toowoomba add major infrastructure such as the second range crossing and Wellcamp airport, he believes more should be done to accommodate the increasing population of the city.

"More and more people are moving to Toowoomba every day. However, the infrastructure is not in place to deal with such a rapidly increasing population.

"Toowoomba is experiencing a boom period and more should be done to set the city up for growth.

"I have always enjoyed living in Toowoomba and I think council should do everything they can to keep what makes it such a great place."
