Police find missing Withcott man on Mt Tabletop - Toowoomba Chronicle

BREAKING: POLICE have found 21-year-old man Clinton Smith on the side of Mt Tabletop.


Mr Smith had been missing from his Withcott home since Saturday evening.


A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said Mr Smith was suffering from hypothermia when found about 8.50am.

Crews from the RACQ CareFlight helicopter spotted him from the air at 8am. The crews had been searching the area last night and recommenced the search at first light.

The RACQ CareFlight helicopter landed on Mt Tabletop to collect Mr Smith before he was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.


Darling Downs district officer Inspector Mike Curtin said police were assisted greatly by State Emergency Service volunteers and the CareFlight helicopter during the search.


YESTERDAY: POLICE are appealing for public assistance to help locate a missing 21-year-old man.


He was last seen at a Withcott address on the evening of Saturday, August 30.


The man has not made contact with family or friends and police hold concerns for his welfare, as it is out of character.


The man was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark grey and black speckled shirt and no shoes.


He is described as having short blond hair, average build and 190cm tall.
