TOOWOOMBA residents are eating cleaner with business booming at new paleo cafe Primal Pantry.

While the store has only been open to the public for seven days, Garden City residents have been flocking to see what the unique eatery is all about.

Primal Pantry manager Liz Geiger said she never expected such an incredible response.

"The last few days all our staff have been run off their feet," Ms Geiger said.

"I think the fact we are giving locals something completely different to what has traditionally been available in Toowoomba makes us stand out."

Paleo, according to Ms Geiger, is a way of living and eating.

"It's a matter of cutting out the bad stuff and adding in the good," she said.

"Cutting starchy carbs, gluten, dairy and refined sugars and adding in grass-fed meats, poultry, seafood, fresh vegies, good fats, nuts and seeds and a little bit of natural sugars.

"The service we offer at Primal Pantry is gluten, dairy, soy and refined sugar free. It's all made from scratch, from fresh wholesome foods, no packet foods or preservatives on site.

"All our food is also sourced predominantly from around the Darling Downs."

Primal Pantry is located at 18 Hill St.
