IT'S the colourful trend that's been sweeping the globe, with thousands of people lining up to be showered in a vibrant kaleidoscope of colours - and it's coming to Toowoomba for the first time this month.
Color Vibe will roll into town on November 30 and will see hundreds of excited participants take to the Toowoomba Showgrounds to run a five kilometre course, where they'll be blasted with a selection of vibrantly coloured powders at a number of stations set up throughout the course.
Inspired by India's Holi Festival of Colours, a Hindu celebration of spring, love and friendship, and life, this literal fun run is an opportunity for locals to let their hair down and release their inner child.
But while this for-profit event is primarily based around promoting an active lifestyle in the most enjoyable way, by participating in the event, you'll also be making a difference in the community.
Color Vibe's Australian race director Michael Keuler says the event's recent partnership with Global Care Australia in September this year is one he's proud to be involved in.
"We cannot think of a better partnership," Mr Keuler said.
"The Color Vibe partners with local non-profit charities in every location a five kilometre event is held, and every community has great people doing great work enhancing communities.
"Global Care was identified as a community leader, and the Color Vibe decided to reach out to Global Care to fundraise and increase exposure for their essential efforts in Toowoomba and throughout Australia."
Aiming to raise tens of thousands of dollars from the Toowoomba run alone, Mr Keuler explains that Color Vibe wants to maximise the donation Global Care Australia receives from their partnershipto help them with their admirable drought relief efforts.
But Global Care's work extends far beyond this, with the social justice and disaster relief arm of the International Network of Churches Incorporated aiming to support people and transform communities through their motto of "mates helping mates".
Their valuable volutneer work has helped in many of our nation's greatest tragedies, including the Victorian bushfires and the Queensland floods, but there is no task too big or small, with Global Care also assisting the community through blood drives for the Red Cross and pyjama donations for children at the Mater Hospital.
This partnership between Color Vibe and Global Care Australia is one of great benefit, and there's no greater excuse to have fun than helping out the less fortunate at the same time.
So register for Toowoomba's very first Color Vibe event by November 29 and help Global Care by getting your hands - and everything else - dirty.
