Murdered Toowoomba teen Jake Lasker, 19, recently given all-clear from eye ... - NEWS.com.au

JUST months ago, Jake Lasker had been given the "all-clear" from doctors after a battle with eye cancer.

Family friends said the polite teenager had been relieved at the news and was eager to "just get on with it".

But his life ended in tragedy yesterday when he was found murdered at his home in Toowoomba about 3pm.

The street where Jake lived with his family was cordoned off while police forensic units combed the property.

Queensland police last night confirmed they were questioning two males over the incident but declined to elaborate.

The murder has shocked the residents of the usually quiet residential street in Rockville.

A family friend last night said the slain teen's parents "weren't coping very well, as you'd expect".

"His parents had already thought they might lose him from cancer. Now to lose him from this is terrible," they said.

It is understood the 19-year-old graduated from Toowoomba High School and attended Toowoomba TAFE.

On his Facebook page, Jake wrote: "I have Asperger (syndrome) which affects my emotions, so please go easy on me."

He added: "I will always care for me family and friends. I love singing my fav songs."

The family friend said Jake was loved by his parents and was always polite, "considering what he was going through".
