A health warning for people to avoid tick bites.

If you've ever had an encounter with a tick, you'd know they can be annoying little creatures.
There is a lot more to it than a bit of pain... a tick has been know to kill children and can make an adult very sick.
Tick bites have hopitalised a man near Toowoomba recently.
ASSOC PROFESSOR KEVIN BROADY, School of Medical and Molecular BIOSCIENCES, University of Technology in Sydney, is an expert on the tick.
