TOOWOOMBA Hospital event manager Tammy Wilson said there had been more support from the community and businesses than any other year for the annual Give Me 5 for Kids appeal.
Last year, the organisation raised about $70,000, but it was announced earlier this week the sum of 2013's efforts was $107,751.67.
The target of $80,000 was surpassed by more than $25,000.
"It's going to be really hard to beat that figure next year," Mrs Wilson said.
Toowoomba Hospital Foundation chief executive officer Peter Rookas said the "incredibly generous" amount of money raised this year meant the hospital could do more for the sick children in the hospital and health service.
"Our first purchase with the 2013 Give Me 5 for Kids funds will be two new isolettes for our Special Care Nursery, worth approximately $24,000 each," he said. "These machines are vital pieces of equipment to help care for premature babies or bubs born with complications."
4GR's Big Breakfast presenters Lee Faulker and Lizzy King said they were thrilled with the result of the appeal this year.
The Toowoomba Chronicle supported Give Me 5 for Kids 2013 alongside many other sponsors including Westbrook Trailers, Crave Cupcakes, Dancing Stars, Westpac and Heritage Bank.
Give Me 5 for Kids has been raising funds to provide equipment for children's hospitals for almost 20 years.
