BRAYDON Smith made the most of his historic opportunity by posting a third round TKO win over Indonesia's Ansori Pitulay at the King's Cup in Thailand.
The Toowoomba fighter took on Pitulay in the first boxing bout to feature at the Muay Thai event in Bangkok which attracts massive crowds.
Pitulay failed to answer the bell to start the third round seeing Smith win by stoppage in his first bout overseas to take his professional record to 12 wins from 12 fights.
"It was a great feeling to win, especially in front of a crowd which was in excess of 200,000 people," Smith said.
"I've never experienced anything like it. I was so proud to represent Australia and Thailand on such a big stage."
Smith was also thrilled to have been part of the unique bout.
"To be given the opportunity to fight a feature bout on the King's Cup main card was amazing and an opportunity I have to thank the great man Mr Songchai, Pariyakorn and Siraphop from OneSongchai Promotions for bestowing us with such an elite status on this card," he said.
"We have been overwhelmed with the support of the Thai people, they are so friendly. It's a bout I will never forget."
Pitulay came out hard in the first round but the momentum shifted in the second.
"I definitely felt a change in round two after I landed some clean shots and I wanted to keep him on the back foot and I could see he was hurting late in the round," Smith said.
