"WE'RE raising money to keep him up there."

This was the running joke for a few on-lookers as their bosses stood shivering high over Toowoomba this morning.

For the second time in a week, Toowoomba has displayed tremendous generosity, raising more than $90,000 for the Toowoomba Hospice in a single event.

Toowoomba Hospice chairman Graham Barron said the fundraiser, now in its third year, had gone from strength to strength.

"We've had a cross-section across the board. People are getting right behind the cause," Mr Barron said.

"Our budget for this financial year is $1.64 million and nearly half of that will come from the community."

The ingenuinty of the Hang Ya Boss Out to Dry initiative was summed up by Helen Tilly, from Tilly's Crawler Parts: "I told them (my sponsors) I was freezing my backside off, so they should give me money".

More than 20 Toowoomba bosses were left hanging until they raised a target of $750 each.

"We are overwhelmed. People are just so generous," Mr Munro said.

"The initial target for this year was $50,000."

Earlier this week, more than a million was raised at the It's a Bloke Thing's Foundation lunch in Toowoomba.
